Thousand-plus agents ask about new Property Network venture

Property Network, the social network for the UK property market, claims that its new Community Pages are proving popular among agents and consumers.

According to Property Network, there have been well over 1,000 inquiries from estate and letting agents to become Community Partners.

Community Pages provide insights into areas based on collected social, demographic and lifestyle data. They also allow users to seek the views of local agents that sponsor the pages. These agents are known as Community Partners, and are positioned within the Community Pages as local property experts.

Currently, Property Network has over 250 Community Pages that are live, half of which are sponsored by local agents.

David Carlisle, PR and content manager of Property Network, said: “As far as the consumer market is concerned, there was no replacement for Up My Street.

“This is a new, interactive version built for today’s generation that harnesses the power of social media.”

Property Network plans to enrich the Community Page content through a number of strategic partnerships with lifestyle websites such as gyms, job-boards, dating sites, local schools, universities and even other property websites.

It says this will act as a further draw for consumers who, according to some users, have nowhere else to easily access this information.

Kim Davies, 30, wrote on Clapton’s Community Page: “As a single woman moving to London I was worried about where to live, especially since Up My Street disappeared. But after finding this community and speaking to some of the residents, I think I have found the right place for me.”
