It’s not all doom and gloom...

Wages are reported to overshadow the monthly rent payment this year much to the delight of tenants all over the country. This is a table showing the statistics of rent compared to wage rises each year from 2012.

Year

Rent

Wages

2014

Rising by                  1.7%

Rising by                        2.2%

2013

Rose by                    1.6%

Rose by                          1.1%

2012

Rose by                    3.2%

Rose by                          1.3%

This shows that 2014 will be a good year for tenants as their wages should overtake the rent they will have to pay, compared to 2013 and 2012 where rent increased more than the wages, especially in 2012 where there is a 1.9% difference. This means that tenants will benefit from having more disposable income. This increase is forecasted to happen around July and hasn’t happened for four years.
