It has been reported that post-lockdown increasing numbers of people are seeking out homes with a garden and this appears to be reinforced by Rightmove, which states searches for homes with gardens increased by 42% in May.
We appreciate not everyone has green fingers but most of us can get the basics right.
Here are some tips:
- Cut the grass, remove weeds and trim back overgrown bushes and hedges.
- Repair any broken or damaged fences.
- Play equipment should ideally be removed, especially if it is old and now little used.
- Freshen up fencing, decking and sheds.
Having tidied consider brightening up the garden with the addition of pots or hanging baskets, but not too many you want to maintain the appearance of space.
And finally, first impressions are vital so don’t forget to give the front garden some similar attention.
