Property Franchise Group agencies link up with financial services giant

The Property Franchise Group - including the brands Martin & Co, Whitegates, CJ Hole, Parkers and Ellis & Co - has launched a financial services arm.

The group describes itself as the UK’s largest property franchisor with 287 offices nationwide; its new financial services arm will be in partnership with Legal & General and London & Country.

L&C is the UK’s largest fee free mortgage broker with a three per cent market share and this year is forecast to arrange £9 billion worth of mortgages and process 43,000 applications, of which 20 per cent are buy to let.

The Property Franchise Group says its offices in association with London & Country will offer mortgages across the “whole of market” - it claims other high street estate agents offer mortgages only from a limited panel.

“We chose telephone and web fulfilment because people are busy and do not find it convenient to attend long meetings with mortgage advisors. Once you are a customer you can track the progress of your case online. You know the mortgage is the best in the market for your needs and you will pay no fee for the advice” says Ian Wilson, chief executive of The Property Franchise Group.
