On the 10th December 2020, the government issued a new version of the How to Rent Guide which reflects the situation with the ongoing Corona Virus pandemic.
The previous ‘How to Rent Guide’ published on 7th August 2019 is now out of date and should no longer be used.
As a reminder a How to Rent Guide must be provided when a new tenancy or replacement tenancy is agreed. Should the Guide be updated, landlords should provide a new copy of the updated guide at the outset of any subsequent tenancy.
As a consequence, failure to issue the How to Rent Guide as detailed will mean a valid Section 21 notice cannot be served.
