Charity Ball 2012

Charity Ball 2012

Martin & Co Yeovil and Sherborne Letting Agents are proud to announce that the GIve Life Live Life Charity Ball in aid of Cancer Research UK went ahead on Saturday night (20th Oct) and has raised lots of money for this worthwhile charity.

Although the final amounts have yet to be counted, it is thought that, alongside fellow sponsors Claire's Catering of Yeovil, Wincanton Print of Wincanton and GKN Aerospace, Westlands, Yeovil, we have raised over £12,000 to help in the fight against cancer.

The night went amazingly well, with all the sponsors, together with friends and family setting up the tables, dance floor and bar underneath the wings of concorde in Hall 4 of the Fleet Air Arm Museum at RNAS Yeovilton from around 10am that morning.  By 3pm the work was all done which left just enough time for Emma Higgins of Martin & Co, together with her fellow sponsors, to dash home and get into their glad-rags for the night ahead!

With guests arriving from 7pm onwards, they arrived to welcome drinks and canapes served by the local Sea Cadet force, set in the historic surroundsing of Hall 2 - with Spitfires, Swordfish and Faery Albacore aircraft as the backdrop!  At 8pm dinner was served by the expert staff of Claire's Catering before the Charity Auction got underway.  There were some amazing prizes that had been donated by the sponsors and many local businesses including a week in a holiday cottage in Cornwall, use of a spectator box at Yeovil Town FC, flight in a glider and Spa days at Holbrook House, to name just a few.

After the auction, the guests danced the night away to the sounds of local band 'Ship of Fools' and a DJ from Milborne Port afterwards, whilst they had the option to play the fun casino tables or buy raffle tickets too.

Martin & Co are so proud to have been part of this amazing night, and would like to thank all the others involved.

Emma Higgins, Managing Director of Martin & Co Yeovil said "as the newest Letting Agency in Yeovil I wanted us to get involved in the local community from the outset and this was a great cause and a great opportunity to start as we mean to go on".
