Full details of the proposed 1,000 homes to be constructed at Ridgewood Farm, Uckfield, are now available on a website set up as part of a consultation exercise.
This shows aerial photographs marked to show the area for development are included and the historical context is given from the early settlement of Uckfield to post war development and then there’s a look to the future, image and identity of the town. There are also local character studies.
In addition to 1,000 homes there is to be education provision and 12,650 sq.m of employment space. Other uses – community facilities and a local shop – are also being explored.
An outline planning application is expected to be submitted later this year seeking approval for land use, residential and employment; housing density; open space and access to and movement through the site.
