Local agent ceases trading leaving tenants and landlords owed £1000's!
You may have already read in the local news and even on the BBC website that a local agent in Truro has 'ceased' trading leaving many of its landlord clients without rent and tenants without their deposits. Several of these landlords are in the process of taking the agent in question to court and BBC Inside Out South West has spoken to nine tenants and seven landlords who are collectively owed almost £35,000.

BBC Inside Out also say on their website that 'Three workmen are owed £1,300, and £35,000 awarded by the courts to clients has also not been paid. In addition, an organisation which insures tenants deposits has so far paid out £36,000 to 36 people who all failed to get theirs back'.

If you are with Martin & Co you can be assured that both the tenants deposit and the rent is secure, protected and insured. We are members of ARLA (the industry governing body) and The Property Ombudsman - if your aren't with Martin & Co - is your money safe?
