The drive to inject new life into North Cheam is gathering pace and now Sutton Council wants YOUR views on how it should be regenerated.

Residents and local businesses have contributed ideas on how they would like to see North Cheam developed. Designers have formed those ideas into an initial concept - and now Sutton Council wants your input on that.

The work is the second stage of the Worcester Park and North Cheam Outer London Fund (OLF) project which got underway in April last year. Work is now nearing completion in Worcester Park and the team is eager to get started on North Cheam

Cllr Kirsty Jerome, Chair of the Outer London Find Project Board, said: "This project is vital for the future of the area. It will affect the appearance and prosperity of North Cheam for years to come, so I urge everyone to get involved."

The overall aim of the OLF plan is to improve the economic vitality of high streets and boost trade for businesses - and designers have focused on looking at ways of improving accessibility and making the area more pedestrian-friendly.

Initial ideas they are also proposing include adding trees and landscaping combined with shop front improvements to create a boulevard-style ambience while also continuing street markets to encourage greater footfall.

Public feedback will help to refine the final designs. To look at the plans and make your comments visit www.sutton.gov.uk/outerlondonfund by 17 June.
