Snow Advice For Tenants..

Snow Advice For Tenants..

Our top tips for keeping your property maintained in cold weather..

This is just a friendly reminder for all tenants to take care of your house and heating system. When its this cold you’ll need to have your heating on all the time; not necessarily very hot but hot enough so the pipes don’t freeze and to prevent internal damp spreading within the property; this should be a minimum of 12 degrees, 24 hours a day (if you are there or not).

If you leave your house empty at all you will either need to leave your heating on as per the instructions above or if you don’t want to pay for the gas bill whilst you are not there then you will need to fully drain the system, you would more than likely need to get a qualified tradesman to carry this out.

It is important to make sure you keep warm (and dry) but you have also agreed in your contract to help prevent this kind of damage to the house and could be responsible for the costs of putting it right if you don’t take these precautions. If you would like to talk about any of the above please let us know and we’ll be happy to help!
