Leading local estate and lettings agents Martin & Co have pledged their continued support for Nantwich Show despite the cancellation of this year's event due to the ground being waterlogged. They have even told organisers that they can keep this years sponsorship money despite the event not taking place!
According to Lettings Director Shaun Cafferty, South Cheshire's rental specialist has a strong affinity with the farming community and agricultural sector - as well as a commitment to supporting local events.
"With agencies now in Cheshire West, Whitchurch and Middlewich, in additional to our long established branches in Crewe and in Nantwich, Martin & Co have quite a few farming and agricultural clients, who rent out their properties with us. Some of the local larger estates also use us- we recently rented out a £2000 pcm+ property for one of them. Nantwich Show is a tremendous boost for this important local industry, and we want to play our part to make sure it goes from strength to strength despite setbacks from the weather.
It has been cancelled twice now in the seven years that we have been sponsoring them, but of course many of their costs are already committed whether the event happens or not, so its very important that sponsors like us stand by them, and we hope that others follow our example.
Lots of letting and estate agents claim to be 'local' but we go one step further by actively doing what we can to support the local community and local economy, and this is a tangible example of that".
