Following the government’s update on 13th May 2020 regarding home moving in England during the Covid-19 outbreak, we are pleased to announce our branches in England will start re-opening their doors for booked appointments over the coming weeks. Below are a few guidelines to help you look after your property properly over the winter period;


Minimise the amount of clothes you dry inside the property or on radiators (always use a dyer where possible), this will prevent condensation building up inside your apartment and always open a window or two to ventilate.


INSURANCE... is vital at this time of year, if the pipes burst in your apartment block, or the electrics go and all the food in your fridge/freezer is ruined – you have to claim on your insurance – your landlord is not responsible for this! Check you have an insurance policy and what it covers.


IF A PIPE BURSTS IN YOUR BLOCK.... you will need to turn the stopcock off.. please follow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1euxjXH56To for information on how to find and turn it off.


GOING AWAY.... If you are leaving the property for over 5 days please make sure you:

Set your heating to come on at intervals to keep the pipes working and your boiler ticking over
Make sure you don’t leave any taps dripping (this can lead to burst pipes)
Advise a neighbour or friends to keep an eye on the property for you
If you go away for over 5 days keep your heating on CONSTANTLY!
