In the UK, the standard length of tenancy agreement between a landlord and a tenant for rental homes is six months.
However, this appears to be changing, according to a recent report, as both landlords and tenants seek out better deals which offer protection to both sides.
Amanda Palmer of Martin & Co (Littlehampton) says 'Many Landlords are now asking for a minimum 12 month contract because they don't want the additional wear and tear of tenants moving out every 6 months and having the 12 month fixed term gives them rent stability.'
