Spring in to action if you are thinking of selling

Traditionally, the property market booms in springtime so let’s take a look at ways to prepare your home for a successful spring sale (part one of a two-part article).

Start with a spring clean

Prospective buyers are looking for a home that they can make their own so start by having a good clear out and clean up throughout.

General maintenance

We all may be tired by 12 month’s of pandemic living and possibly the house is too!! It’s a good idea to freshen up the walls with a lick of paint and do all those odd jobs that you’ve been pushing back.

Looking Good?

Try to think like a prospective buyer and imagine how they might make use of your property. It’s a good idea to speak to an estate agent for advice about how to present your home so you can maximise your asking price.

Don’t forget the Garden

People are craving outdoor space and access to nature – so consider planting colourful flowers at the front and back of your property for an immediate impact. Don’t have a garden?, then consider using plant pots to create that floral look.

Market Appraisal

Make sure you speak to a reputable agent, you won’t have a realistic picture of the local market and what you may expect to get for your property until you have done so.

Here at Martin & Co we would love to help, so if it’s an update on the status of the current market or advice about selling your home, please do get in touch with us.
