Rent to Rent Agent Still owes £60,000

A Whitegates Franchisee who was a self proclaimed rent to rent specialist still owes approximately £60,000. Channel 4 News confronted Daniel Burton who ran Unida Place in London.

As previously reported in industry press, Whitegates are allowing Burton to continue as the franchisee under their close watch in an attempt to “uphold the highest standards.”

Clint Kelly and Aisling Brennan, former tenants of Unida Place, claim that they are still owed £3200 following a feature on Channel 4 News.

William Taylor, of Martin & Co Huddersfield (Huddersfield Letting Agent, Huddersfield Estate Agent and Property management Huddersfield), had the following to add “it is sad when the industry hears reports of this nature. The positive to come out of this scenario is that Mr Burton has acknowledged he was wrong in his actions. I personally believe this is another event that is adding to the need for regulation.”
