Proposals to extend Earl Shilton by building more than 1,300 new homes

Proposals to extend Earl Shilton by building more than 1,300 new homes has gone public during September. A consortium of developers - Barwood, Bloor Homes and Jelson Homes - has drawn up a blueprint for a Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) that would swell the town to the east, as far as the A47 Clickers Way. As well as hundreds of new homes, the development would include a new primary school, roads, green space, footpaths and cycle ways, the proposed site, which extends from Breach Lane in the south to Mill Lane in the north, has been earmarked for development by the borough council since 2009.
