Latest figures show average house prices rising in Hinckley

The latest Land Registry House Price Index has shown an annual growth of 6.4 per cent in June 2014, which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £172,011. The June data showed no change in the monthly price and over 78,530 residential properties in England and Wales lodged for registration in June ranging from £11,500 to £20,150,000.

Commenting on the June 2014 Land Registry House Price Index, Steve Chadwick, Franchisee/Director at local estate agent, Martin & Co Hinckley said: "These latest statistics are very encouraging considering this time last year, house prices in Hinckley were still dropping. Bouncing back with an annual change of 6.2 per cent is good news for the local housing market in Leicestershire. Although the East Midlands region saw a slight drop in prices of -1 per cent in July, the annual price change is the fifth highest in the country with an increase of 6.4 per cent.”
