Landlords Must Make Right to Rent Checks from February 2016

The Home Office has today announced the roll out of Right to Rent checks as part of the Immigration Act 2014.

As a consequence, from 1 February 2016 all landlords and letting agents in England will need to make identification checks on all adult occupiers about to rent a property.

Peter Brown, proprietor of Martin & Co Croydon Croydon said "This legislative change makes it even more important for landlords to choose a reputable and professionally qualified agent.  As members of ARLA we will be able to make sure our clients can comply with the changes."
