Construction of the much-discussed Westfield- Hammerson redevelopment of Croydon town centre has been delayed by a year and is now expected to start in 2016, lasting 3 years.

Westfield's Director of Development John Burton and Hammerson's Chief Investment Officer said at a recent meeting in the town that they had already committed in the region of £2000m behind the scenes and that the end result would be " the world's best centre" according to Mr Burton.
