Don't Rely on The Rent

 

Whenever we meet with a new or experienced landlord the issue of void periods comes up.  At Martin & Co Crawley we would always suggest making sure they have a couple of months mortgage payments in the bank should you experience a void period or should an issues arise with non-payment of rent. When a tenant takes occupancy of a property it is unlikely it will fit around your mortgage due date so having a bit of extra cash in the bank should reduce the chance of bank charges
