Recently we talked about some positive aspects due to take effect over the next decade throughout Ayrshire, some interesting points were noted in relation to investment. I wanted to discuss a little more about the PRT this time. The Private residential Tenancy is the current tenancy agreement for all new residential tenancies in Scotland. The simple terminology has been helpful although the open-ended tenancy term was a worry when initially it came into force.

 

Having had the hindsight of time, the personal effect of this on the sector has notably been positive, tenancies have generally been secure and only in minimum cases did people take the view of moving within 3 months of the tenancy starting. This was the worry that landlords and agents felt at the time. We have been successfully processing and matching correctly applicants since the inception of the new tenancy.
