Award-winning Martin & Co and the Welwyn & Hatfield team continue to be an agent of choice in the area.
Martin & Co Welwyn & Hatfield have been included in the short list as one of the best letting agents in the region as part of the Estate & Letting Agent Awards 2013 (ESTAS awards 2013 www.theestas.com). A total of 15 offices in the network have been shortlisted. 7 regions out of 18 include a Martin & Co agent in their regional shortlist with many Martin & Co offices competing between each other for the gold award at a local level.
The ESTAS determines the best letting agents in the country through research carried out amongst customers who are asked a series of questions about the service they have received from their agent. 23,000 questionnaires were completed by customers during the competition.
Stephen Dooley, Director at Martin & Co Welwyn & Hatfield said “We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for the ESTAS 2013. It means so much to us as we know it’s our Landlords who have put us on the list. It is the first time we have entered this competition and to be shortlisted is very exciting. We take our levels of customer service very seriously because we know clients have a choice. We have always been very proud of the personal service we provide and this is great way to demonstrate how good we really are.”
The Martin & Co network are also defending their title of Best Large Letting Chain - Gold award in 2009, Silver in 2010, Silver in 2011 and Gold in 2012 and are hopeful of success at this year’s awards. “This award means a lot to Martin & Co and our offices as it is voted for by landlords. This is the fifth time we have entered these awards and we’re hopeful of retaining our Gold title. The offices put in a lot of effort to obtain feedback from our landlords and it is not to be underestimated. To have 15 of our offices shortlisted is a real achievement” commented Jayne Codling, Marketing Director.
The regional and national winners will be announced by Phil Spencer, the TV Property expert at the 10th annual ESTAS ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane on Friday 19th April.
At the 2012 Estate Agent of the Year Lettings Awards we won Gold for Best large chain as voted by our Landlords. We are extremely proud of this achievement as it recognises the value Landlords place on the service Martin & Co provide.

"Martins&Co is indeed the UK’s No. 1 letting agent and John Chrysanthou is truly a professional. From the commencement of our tenancy to the end John stood out as a man of dignity and respect. Even though our tenancy was a short one, it was like a 10 years tenancy with Martins&Co. John was of immense assistance from the period we started viewing to the period we got our deposit refunded. During the period of the tenancy, John never hesitated to act promptly when we called on him. When we were in search of a new accommodation, John was up to the task. Indeed John is one of the best letting Negotiator of this generation and he his a worthy ambassador of Martins & Co.
We highly recommend them."

We keep in regular contact, it's important keeping you informed of what is happening, no one likes surprises and we try to prompt issues before they arise but when they do we resolve them efficiently.
We recognise every Landlord and Tenant is different. Whether it's a landlord looking for a maximum return on investment or ensuring the right tenant is placed in a much valued asset, we promise to deliver a comprehensive and flexible service that suits our customers - not us.
Similarly, tenants do not always want to take the first property offered, but need a property that suits their needs. Priorities may include a preferred school, proximity to major transport links or simply the size of property. Both landlords and tenants also want security of rent protection and this is something we take very seriously that is why we are members of the Property Ombudsman Scheme for residential lettings.
We are Letting Specialists - your business is our business.
The success of Martin & Co Welwyn & Hatfield can be directly attributed to its dedicated lettings and property management team. Our professional supportive staff has exceptional knowledge of Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and the surrounding areas.
"After speaking and viewing a number of properties I found Beecholme. Contact was made with Martin and co, John Chrysanthou, who within hours of making contact met me at the property for a viewing, needless to say I sought tenancy immediately after viewing. For myself it was the first time in the rental market to seek a property for some 20 years and was thus rather green to what was required. John took me through step by step which helped no end. His whole attitude is very professional and would without prejudice recommend him and the wider company, Martin and Co to friends and family alike who may need to seek accommodation. John is a credit to your business." (Peter, Codicote)

The Welwyn & Hatfield office is located on Howardsgate in the heart of Welwyn Garden City's busy shopping centre and has been trading since 2008 and have worked hard to build a great reputation in the area.
Remember not all lettings agents are the same!
Welwyn Garden City was founded by Sir Ebenezer Howard in the 1920s following his previous experiment in Letchworth Garden City. Howard had called for the creation of planned towns that were to combine the benefits of the city and the countryside and to avoid the disadvantages of both. .
The town is laid out along tree-lined boulevards with a neo-Georgian town centre. It has its own environmental protection legislation, the Scheme of Management for Welwyn Garden City.
Every road has a wide grass verge. The spine of the town is Parkway, a central mall or scenic parkway, almost a mile long. The view along Parkway to the south was once described as one of the world's finest urban vistas.
The original planners intended that all the residents of the garden city would shop in one shop and created the Welwyn Stores, taken over in 1984 by the John Lewis Partnership. A shopping mall, the Howard Centre, was built in the 1980s, incorporating the original railway station.
In addition there is a sports centre, The Gosling Sports Centre, with a dry ski slope, golf driving range, indoor and outdoor tennis, squash, football pitches, an athletics track, a gym and bowls. There is an airfield at Panshanger, currently used by the North London Flying School.
The King George V playing field, on the boundary of the old Hatfield Hyde village, was once used by the England football team for training. There are three golf courses: Panshanger, owned and operated by the borough council, Mill Green Golf Course located in Gypsy Lane and the Welwyn Garden City Golf Club, of which Nick Faldo was once a member.
The Stanborough Park and lakes was the venue for a free annual Water Carnival and firework display and a November 5 fireworks display, both of which attracted large crowds from great distances.
Roman Baths are preserved in a steel vault underneath junction 6 of the A1(M) and are open to visitors.
There is a large hospital in the town, the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.
