40% of Letting Agents are not Regulated, is yours?

Whilst watching the news this morning I saw an interview with Christopher Hamer, The Property Ombudsman (TPO), where he discussed the release of his 2010 annual report released today which highlights the need for more regulation within the Lettings Industry.

You may not be aware that there is currently no legal requirement for a letting agent to be regulated. According to Mr Hamer 40% of letting agents not regulated by the TPO. The problem for landlord and tenants of such agents is that there is no independent redress should issues arise.
