I felt compelled to pen this news item following a letter of complaint we received this morning...
A new tenant, one who had rented from two local estate agents for over five years and who in their opinion were fantastic tenants had written to express their concerns that they felt victimised and as though we were checking up on them - We had recently sent them a letter advising them of an up coming inspection visit at the property.
Carmen telephoned the lady and after a long chat reassured her that this was not a unique occurrance and indeed we would be conducting periodic inspections at the property in the future, as is our requirement to do so as part of the service we provide to her landlord and which is referred to within her tenancy agreement.
Carmen also suggested that inspections are a great opportunity for tenants to discuss any concerns they might have either with their property or tenancy, face to face with a Martin & Co employee and in the comfort of their own home.
A summary of the inspection report will be communicated to their landlord within 48 hours via email and by telephone if necessary.
Imagine Carmen's surprise when the lady notified her that in over five years of renting she had not once had her property inspected!!
At Martin & Co we pride ourselves on the professional service we provide to both our Landlords and Tenants. Yet again we prove that a specialist letting agent does what we should, whilst two particular local Estate Agents who "dabble in lettings during the current slow sales market" quite clearly do not.
