The Directors -
Founders of Martin & Co, Oxford are father and daughter team Bob Urwin and Claire Boers. Bob is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors whilst Claire is a business management graduate and qualified member of the National Federation of Property Professionals. They launched the Oxford city centre office in 2006.
Bob, Claire and Sue Urwin work in their ARLA licensed business full-time and strongly support the Property Ombudsman Scheme for Letting Agents. All directors operate an "open door" policy. Whatever you wish to discuss, either in person or on the telephone, then you will find one of them will be available immediately, at all times.
Richard Goodwin – Lettings Manager
Richard is responsible for the day to day running of the office and ensures that the Oxford office remains efficient, effective and customer driven at all times. Qualified in technical awards, ARLA (Association of Residential Lettings Agents) and NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents), Richard is always available to new and existing landlords offering his expert advice on the Private Rented Sector, current legislative responsibilities, market conditions as well as landlord responsibilities during tenancy.
Gary Heppell - Business Development Manager
Gary has over 15 years active experience in property sales and lettings in Oxfordshire and has brought a wide range of skills and knowledge to Martin & Co Oxford. He focuses on helping landlords get the most out of their property investments. Gary will show you where the current property hot spots are, how we market properties to attract the best tenants and he will give you tips on how to optimise the rental potential of your investment. Nigel Wallace – Property Manager
Nigel is a long-standing member of the team and has gained qualifications (ARLA) through the National Federation of Property Professionals and is directly responsible for day-to-day property management of our existing register. Nigel’s principle responsibility is to ensure all management issues from both tenant and landlord are dealt with quickly and effectively to ensure both parties remain happy during tenancy.
Senior Lettings Consultant - Lyndi Feather
Lyndi is our Senior Lettings Consultant and joined Martin & Co in 2007. She is well qualified being a psychology and marketing graduate, gained a Property Professional Award (ARLA) in Residential Lettings and Property Manangement and has attended several leadership and management courses at the Martin & Co Training Academy. Lyndi has held various marketing and managerial positions over the last 5 years and uses her extensive lettings knowledge and experience to match the right tenants to the right property.
Lettings Consultant – Samantha Grimes
Sam has had experience working for two of Oxford's established letting agencies but the attraction of working within a team offering exceptional customer service was the deciding factor for joining Martin & Co. A graduate of Oxford Brookes University, Sam has gained a wide knowledge ot the Oxfordshire lettings market and is always available to offer advice and support to our customers. It is good to know that you can rely on the best advice from our staff, whether you are looking to move in to a new property, or just popping in for some general lettings adivice, Sam will always ensure you get the real take on what to expect and help you negotiate the lettings minefield that can be daunting to new tenants.
Lettings Consultant - Tim Wheeler
Tim is an experienced professional with a property career stretching back to the late 1980’s, when he was working as an estate agent in Cheshire. Tim moved to Banbury and worked for 13 years as Branch Manager for a large Oxfordshire estate agency chain before joining an independent agency in Bicester. He has worked as a Lettings Manager since 2006 and was keen to broaden his experience in residential lettings by working in a vibrant city-centre office and so joined Martin & Co. Tim believes customer service is paramount and ensures he always delivers a high standard of customer service to all Martin and Co landlords and tenants.
Lily Yeates - Property Mananger
Lily is another experienced Property Manager and highly qualified, having gained Property Professional Awards (ARLA) in Residential Lettings and Property Management. Lily was born and raised in the city and has a sound background in the Oxford private rented sector. She is particularly strong when it comes to problem solving, having spent a number of years working in finance and customer service roles, so you can rest assured she will come up with the best solutions when managing your valuable asset. If you want advice on any maintenance issues or thinking of upgrading your property, Lily is here to help you. Every year, Lily makes over 600 management visits to ensure the properties we have been tasked to look after are being cared for, and written reports on her findings are forwarded to our clients.
Oxford is a beautiful, historical city home to one of the most famous University’s in the UK, Oxford University. There is a real mix of people living in the Oxford, with students centering around the city and families choosing the quieter suburbs.
Our current tenants come from a wide spectrum, including graduates locating to the area, senior managers, company relocations, the military and families - always providing a high demand for properties ranging from 1 and 2 bedroom apartments to large luxury homes.
1 and 2 bedroom apartments are very high in demand throughout Oxford city. Oxford is a very transient city and people come to work or study for just 1 to 3 years. Building land is very limited in the city centre and the availability of modern apartments cannot keep up with this demand. The vast majority of landlords are buy to let investors with more than one property.
