Live and rent in Mansfield

Mansfield is a town in Nottinghamshire.

It is the largest town in the county, lying on the river Maun from which the name of the town is derived.  

The town is surrounded by a pocket of steep hills within the Maun Valley, and has a population of 67,885.

 

Mansfield has a large market square and around the market a large commercial centre including a museum, the Palace Theatre and numerous pubs, bars and night clubs.

 

The town also has many retail outlets and the Four Seasons shopping Centre contains many popular shops such as Primark, HMV, Debenhams and the bookstore WH Smith.

 

Mansfield is also home to the Water Meadows Leisure centre and the newly opened Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre is in Mansfield Woodhouse.

 

The area has a wide variety of houses to let. There are lots of terrace properties available close to the town centre and modern estates on the outskirts. A popular location is the Berry Hill 'Quarry' area. This has a mixture of 1 and 2 bed apartments as well as 3 and 4 bedroom larger houses.

 

The new bus station is currently on track and should open late 2012. There are also other exciting developments planned, including the redevelopment of the old Mansfield Brewery site as well as the old Queens Head pub site in the town Centre.

Fingers crossed the iconic 'First Central' building will also find a new buyer as this will provide a range of luxury apartments right in the heard of the town centre to the rental market
