Owners Mark and Liz have developed their own property rental business over the past 10 years gaining firsthand experience of being landlords and the problems encountered by directly managing their own properties. Plus they have experience of dealing with a variety of estate and letting agents as customers so understand what a difference a good agent can make! In addition to the Martin & Co and property businesses Mark and Liz have many years experience working for Blue Chip companies in senior roles spanning the credit referencing, offshore outsourcing, logistics and the motor industries. This experience is now used to provide the very best service to Landlords and Tenants

 

Mark has brought together a hard working team full of experience and local knowledge. Everyone is passionate about delivering the very best service for Landlords and Tenants alike.

 

Due to our continued growth we are really pleased to welcome a new member to the team. Nina Johnson, previously of Rocket Home Rentals, has joined us in the role of Property Management Coordinator and will provide experience and additional resource to the Property Management Team. In addition to her previous experience Nina is a member of the Association of Professional Inventory Providers (APIP). Nina’s appointment is a key investment in our commitment to providing the very best service we can to Landlords and Tenants in the Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle and Leek area. We have had a large number of Landlords moving to us especially in the last 12 months and as a result we have been looking to bring in a suitably qualified and experienced person and Nina certainly fits the bill. Bev is often the first point of contact Landlords have with us and she prides herself on giving straightforward, honest and professional advice. Bev has many years of experience in the local property market and has experience of being a Landlord herself.

 

Steve and Chris are the first port of call for Tenants looking for a new home. Between them they have over 40 years experience in Lettings and associated industries and both take great pride in working hard to find the right home for the right tenant. Both are highly regarded locally and would be delighted to hear from prospective tenants.

 

Kim is our Lettings Coordinator. Kim has previous experience in a customer service role working for one of the UK’s largest house builders and more recently as Tenancy and Lettings Administrator for a national housing association.

 

James is our property manager and he brings experience in managing rental properties throughout North Staffordshire. He is currently in the process of sitting his NFOPP exams having completed an extensive training course through the Martin&Co training academy as part of our commitment to having the best trained team in the area.

 

Sabah gives us much needed support on our busy Saturdays. Sabah is a Business and Finance undergraduate with a keen interest in the letting industry having gained experience by helping out in her family’s property business 

Live and rent in Leek

If you're searching for a friendly town that full of character and close to spectacular countryside, you don't want to overlook Leek...

Leek lies on the edge of the spectacular Peak District in the Staffordshire Moorlands and is known as the 'Queen of the Moorlands'.   Although it's close to the Potteries, its textiles and farming heritage perhaps give it more in common with its neighbours of Buxton and Macclesfield, in Derbyshire and Cheshire respectively. It sits proudly on a hill at more than 600 feet above sea level, and The Roches, a prominent rocky landmark familiar to climbers, is only a few minutes' drive away, signifying the start of the Peak District National Park.

 

Leek has several large employers, the most significant being the Britannia Building Society which has its national headquarters on the A520 on the outskirts of town. A second building society, Leek United, is also based here.

The North Staffordshire conurbation, with a population of around 400,000 people, is a short drive south and also offers many job opportunities.

 

Property in Leek

 

Leek is large enough to accommodate a varied range of housing set in a traditional market town.  Older parts such as the West End have many small terraced homes and former mill-workers' cottages, while attractive Victorian family homes can be found slightly further from the centre in areas such as Junction Road.

 

Modern estate-style four-bedroom properties have been developed in several districts including Badgers Rise, overlooking Brough Park, and Hillside Drive, backing on to Westwood Golf Club. There are several very large homes in the Ladderedge area on the approach to the town centre from the Potteries, and the rural northern outskirts have many hillside farmhouses on the main A53 road to Buxton.

There are also several attractive villages and hamlets in the countryside surrounding Leek including Cheddleton and Endon.  The former, on the A520, has a large, modern mixed housing development built in the picturesque grounds of the former St Edwards psychiatric hospital. Endon is on the A53, which runs from Leek to Stoke-on-Trent, and has a wide range of attractive homes, from small historic cottages to very substantial country houses.

 

Transport:

 

Leek town centre is situated on a junction of the A523, A53 and A520 roads.  These provide good links to the nearby towns of Macclesfield and Congleton, in Cheshire; Buxton and Ashbourne, in Derbyshire; and the city of Stoke-on-Trent, in Staffordshire. The latter has two junctions onto the M6, giving easy access to Birmingham and Manchester, while the A50 runs from the Potteries to the M1 near Nottingham.
