During our quarterly visits to the managed properties, we not only view the inside of the property, but we also view the outside for any potential defects. Defective gutters and downpipes are one of many problems that can cause damp problems in homes. Some may have had their appearance spoiled by inconsiderate or unsympathetic replacement of rainwater goods, and these defects can soon lead to dampness issues. For example, if gutters are undersized or blocked, water spillage can saturate walls and lead to dampness internally. At each visit we check the gutters to ensure that they are clear of
debris and are therefore not subjecting the external walls/render to an unnecessary soaking.
