Ways to avoid frozen pipes or worse!

Your home is at risk in this very cold weather. There are ways of keeping your house warm and dry.

Many homes now have a gas condensing boiler heating system, and due the the artic weather the external drain away pipes have been freezing . This is stopping the waste liquid from draining away, causing a "back up", causing the boiler to fail,

One way to prevent this is for the householder to insulate those external pipes with some waterproof lagging, reducing the problem of no hot water or heating.

SO If you have an outside pipe or plastic pipe from the boiler that is not insulated, and if the cold weather persists.

However if the exterior pipe is frozen, under no circumstances should anyone attempt to thaw this condense pipe, this should only be done by a professionally trained gas engineer;
