The Great British Property Scandal

This campaign fronted by George Clarke and Phil Spencer has hit the headlines in the last few weeks with Channel 4 showing a range of programmes to highlight the crazy aspect of huge numbers of empty properties across the UK while so many people are homeless or struggling to put a roof over their heads - we couldnt agree more with the general principle and support the campaign fully!

One particular feature highlighted the problem of a couple who own a second property and while the property sitting empty was costing them £5k per annum, they felt it could not be let in the current condition and didnt have the funds to smarten it up.

We fully sympathise with anyone in this situation which has arisen through the slump in property sales and the necessary legisltation to improve the condition and quality of rental property. If circumstances dictate that you have a second home which is currently unoccupied whether as a result of inheritance or moving in with a partner and you cant sell or dont wish to try in the current financial climate, ask us for advice on what needs done in order to let the property as it can be false economy to leave it sitting empty!
