& good Rental Returns.
If you are an looking to get into the buy to let market then terraced homes could provide a great return.
If you own a terraced house and bought during the past ten years then you could be quids in, according to new research by lender the Halifax.
It reveals that terraced houses (the kind made into a national institution by TV soap Coronation Street) have risen in value more than any other property category, climbing in value by 68% over the past decade - the equivalent of £118 a week. In 2001 the average terraced house price was £89,843 which has now surged to £151,332.
In comparison, the average British home has risen 53% since 2001 from £116,325 to £177,740. So, despite terraced properties having the greatest price hike, they still remain the most affordable home, 15% below the UK’s average and 45% less than a detached home.
