As a family-run business Martin & Co differs from many letting agents and estate agents in Derby. Martin & Co Derby was nominated as one of the top ten East Midlands letting agents and estate agents in both 2011 and 2012, (ESTAs industry awards, voted for by landlords).

Martin & Co Derby lettings and estate agents became a voluntarily regulated agent in November 2012 when we were awarded licensed status by the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA).

In order to satisfy the stringent rules for entry, Martin & Co staff have to complete continuing professional development and the agency must operate an audited client account, covered by client money protection insurance and professional indemnity insurance. We are also required to be members of The Property Ombudsman. There are only a handful of fully licensed letting agents in Derby.

Derby University climbs ever higher in the University rankings annually and Derby Royal Hospital is also a training hospital tied with Nottingham University

Culturally Derby has been described as the City of Festivals (Financial Times, 2012). Venues include The QUAD arts and media centre which has just secured new Arts Council Funding, Derby Playhouse, and Deda.

Derby is one of the top destinations for real ale drinkers, with many microbreweries and festivals.

As for shopping, Derby has a large Intu shopping centre featuring all the high street popular brands and attracting 25 million visitors a year. Derby Cathedral Quarter features a unique in experience amongst the historic building of Derby adjacent to Derby Cathedral.
