rent will fall

Rising rent prices have been a developing trend in recent years as the lettings industry has boomed where the buying market has struggled.  Yet despite many being of the opinion that rents will reach a point beyond which they can rise no further, a recent survey conducted by Halifax has shown that 71 per cent of people believe the cost of renting in the private sector will increase over the next 12 months

In contrast, only two per cent of respondents expressed a belief that rent levels will fall in the same period - a seemingly clear reflection of the idea that buy-to-let properties will remain in the future.

With little sign that the growth of the private rented sector is set to be reined in over the coming months, it appears that investment in the industry will continue to be an attractive prospect to both existing and first-time landlords - and that the potential yields will hold strong.
