The area

Coventry is a strategically well placed city. There is a rail link to London Euston that can take just under an hour, and easy access to road networks leading anywhere in the country - M40 - M42 - M45 - M45/M1 south - M69/M1 north - M6.

It has two universities - Coventry University in the heart of the city itself and the University of Warwick which, despite the name, has a campus just on the outskirts of greater Coventry.

Coventry has the Belgrade theatre, Warwick Arts Centre and several local amateur theatre companies as well as an art gallery, and some well preserved medieval buildings, now used as retail and commercial outlets, gathered together on Spon Street. The cathedral - old and new - has an international reputation.

Coventry has a wide range of chain stores in the city itself and on several outlying retail parks. There are a wide range of pubs clubs and restaurants, and all sorts of other interest groups meet across the city.

Coventry boasts a cutting edge technology and IT park, and high value specialist engineering springing from its history of bicycle and car manufacturing. It also has a recently rebuilt hospital that offers world class treatments in such things as cancer.
