Established in 2003 the Colchester Letting Agency of Martin & Co is located in spacious shop front premises on North Hill, directly opposite the Sixth Form College.

 

This gives good access for our Landlords & Tenant looking to rent being located just off the High Street, with parking facilities directly behind the Office in the Nunns Road NCP Car Park, or free parking directly in front of the shop for parking up to 30 minutes.

 

We specialise in letting quality rented properties for working professionals, being located close to the Colchester North Station & Colchester General Hospital and Students Lettings where we have a close working relationship directly with Essex University.

 

This Letting Agency is a member of the National Approved Letting Scheme NALS and the Association of Residential Letting Agents ARLA both being the professional bodies set up to promote high standards in the Lettings Industry.

 

Martin & Co Lettings are also members of The Property Ombudsman who can offer a free, fair and independent service for Landlords & Tenants of property in the UK.

The Colchester team

Gary Everett is Managing Director of both the Colchester & Ipswich Lettings offices and has eight years experience in the Lettings industry having spent his previous career in banking.

 

Katherine Sims joined the Company in 2008 initially as a Property Assistant and has been promoted to Lettings Negotiator. Katherine can often be spotted in the Town in her brightly coloured Martin & Co branded Mini.

 

Georgina Maddison our Lettings Assistant has been with us for one year and is responsible for handling new tenancy applications, in addition to marketing our properties and attracting new customers.

 

Rachel Whittaker joined us in last year from working with a Lettings Referencing Agency which closed in the Town. Rachel is responsible for gaining appointments for new Landlords and Tenants, and for handling Customer Service demands.

 

Catherine Kiely is our Part Time Lettings Assistant whilst she is studying for a Business Studies Course, and provides valuable cover for staff in the peak periods of our business.

 

Judy Amos is the Colchester Office Accounts Manager and has been with the Company for over 5 years. Judy is responsible for maintaining the Client Bank Accounts to the strict rules laid down by ARLA.

 

Matt Barber our Colchester Property Manager has over 4 years experience in his role and manages a busy portfolio to ensure that our properties are always maintained to the highest standards.

 

Carly Stannard is our Property Assistant and has been with us for one year. Carly is responsible for the Tenancy Renewals process, as well as arranging routine Property Inspections and maintaining Gas Safety in all our properties.

 

Brian Everett is Co-Director of the business and the father of our Managing Director and carries out all the routine Property Inspections of the portfolio.

Colchester is Britains oldest recorded Town and is still a Town full of buildings of great age and character.

 

Colchester also has many quaint old style shopping areas as well as the more modern shopping centre in Culver Square with its water fountain and street entertainers, a popular local meeting place plus a market held every Friday.

 

The town is also home to the University of Essex and is well known for its links with the army which has a large garrison based in Colchester, providing an ideal location for Landlords looking for a great return on their rental investments.

 

The badges of 19 regiments associated with the town can be seen displayed along the wall by the road as you pass up Balkerne Hill.

 

We are also famous for our Oysters first sampled by the Romans. These are cultivated and harvested off the coast of Mersea Island and enjoyed yearly at the Colchester Oyster Feast in the Town Hall.
