As a lettings agency, we have been operating in Caterham for the past nine years, providing a quality letting service to Landlords and Tenants and impartial advice to investors looking at purchasing rental property in the Caterham and surrounding areas. We work closely with our Martin & Co neighbours both to the north, the Martin & Co offices in Croydon and Leatherhead and to the South with Martin & Co Crawley and the Martin & Co Beckenham Office to our East, and we can all offer our clients the same quality service and we are confident in working together for the good of our clients. We also own and run the Reigate & Redhill office of Martin & Co where we have an shop in Reigate town centre and our two offices share a boundary and can often offer both  our applicants and landlords the benefits of a wider catchment and a greater variety of rental flats and houses and tenants.

We play a very active role in the local business community and sit on a number of committees including that of A Better Caterham which is a scheme to improve the town centre and also the Business Traders Assocations.

The Martin & Co Caterham office was set up by a father and daughter who have lived in the area for many years and wanted to establish a lettings business offering a personal and quality service to Landlords and Tenants. 

 
The Martin & Co team today is still very much a family and have qualifications in the lettings field and between them have a wealth of experience  as well as a common sense approach and knowledge of both the lettings industry and local area.

 

Marc Hansen - Managing Director

Set up the business in lettings having taken early retirement following a long career in the city.  Having been a Landlord himself and with a keen interest in property, he decided to set up Martin & Co Caterham and he is now mainly based the office in Reigate & Redhill.

 

Lucie Allan - Lettings Director

Helped set up the business with prior experience in advertising and marketing in London and 9 years later now runs the busy Caterham office.

 

Rebecca Floyd - Lettings Progressor

Deals with the move-in process seeing it through until a tenant moves into a property.  Has been with Martin & Co nearly 5 years.

 

Lisa Floyd - Property Manager

Looks after the day to day property maintenance issues that arise during a tenancy. 

 

Cathy Hansen - Office Manager

Ensures that the team and the office are well organised.  This is invaluable in a busy office such as this.

 

Jane McGill - Receptionist

Offers a warm welcome to visitors to the office and on the telephone and helps out the team wherever necessary.

 

Live and rent in Caterham

 Caterham is situated south of London in a valley cut into the North Downs. This area is renowned for its schools, which are a major factor in families making the move to the area. Caterham School, Woldingham Girls School and Warlingham and De Stafford schools achieve excellent results year after year.

 

When people mention Caterham, the immediate thought is cars.  The Caterham Car that Jeremy Clarkson rates so highly was designed, built and is still sold in Caterham town centre and it is not uncommon to see the fast kit cars on the surrounding roads.  We're very excited as Caterham is now featured on the F1 circuit this season and will be tracking their progress.   Caterham has officially gone global!!  You may decide to buy one of the fastest road cars or a cheaper alternative might be to hire one for the weekend or arrange to race one around Brandshatch racetrack for the day which is less than an hour away. Chessington and Thorpe Park are close by for great family days out. And when the sun is shining, Brighton and the beach is less than an hour away.  

 

There are also many great restaurants and pubs in the area; Bollywood is a good quality indian restaurant with a great atmosphere. Botley Hill Farm pub is a great family pub/restaurant in a rural setting and has great live music at weekends.  The Pilgrim in Caterham is very popular especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

 

Demand for rental property in the Caterham area is huge and there is always a shortage of all properties, which has led to increased rents and a situation where tenants need to act fast to secure their ideal property. For investors looking for the ideal property, the phrase 'location, location, location' was designed with Caterham in mind! 

 

Proximity to train stations tends to be the biggest attraction for professional tenants looking to rent a stylish new build apartment, and 3 bedroom houses are always sought after by families. Most of the train stations in this area are within Zone 6 which means a considerable saving in ticket prices both individually and on season tickets, and there is the option of two different train lines into London so if one should experience delays due to 'leaves on the line', there is always an alternative route.
