Established in 2007, the Airdrie office is located in Airdrie’s busy town centre on Graham Street, straight across from the Sheriff Court.

 

We have just moved to a new office in Graham Street, which is on the site where the well known local ice cream parlour, The Cappocci Man, once stood. This location puts us at one of the busiest locations in the town and directly opposite the currently being constructed, largest Health Centre in Europe which will ease the pressure on nearby Monklands Hospital. 

 

We cover all of Airdrie, Coatbridge and Bellshill. We are linked with the Hamilton office, which covers the South of Lanarkshire, while Airdrie covers North Lanarkshire. We share staff and pool resources.

 

We work closely with other members of Martin & Co's Scottish network including attendance at upcoming National Landlords Exhibition in November 2011.

Joanna has been with Martin & Co for over 1 year and continues to grow the Airdrie , Cumbernauld and Hamilton offices.

New to the office, Pamela brings her own  approach to the admin function and is enjoying the many varied challenges a bustling lettings business offers whilst benefiting from comprehensive training.

 

 

Live and rent in Airdrie

Airdrie is a large town in North Lanarkshire about 12 miles East of Glasgow city centre.  The town centre has changed a lot in recent years with a new road scheme. The main pedestrian street, Graham Street, has recently been refurbished which has upgraded the whole area for shoppers.

 

New housing complexes are being built around this suitably situated commuter town, notably in Chapelhall, Rochsoles and Glenmavis, the former Boots factory site in Rawyards and the former Imperial Tube Works in Cairnhill. Airdrie has a concentration of doctors and nurses thanks to Monklands Hospital.

 

Nearby Coatbridge was a major Scottish centre for iron works and coal mining during the 19th century and in this period Coatbridge was described as "the industrial heartland of Scotland.  Today it has the Time Capsule Leisure Centre, Faraday Retail Park and the Summerlee Heritage Park, an award winning museum providing a history of the ironworks of the area.

 

Cumbernauld was originally built in 1956 as an overspill town but today it is so much more.   It’s home to the Clyde FC and has its own airport, the Cumbernauld Airport built in the 1980’s.  Just next to Strathclyde Business Park sits Bellshill, a town with its own railway and great links to the rest of the area.     

 

From Kilsyth, the Forth and Clyde Canal, and the Antonine Wall World Heritage Site in the North, Lanarkshire stretches down through Cumbernauld, Airdrie, Motherwell and into the expanse of Strathclyde Country Park.  You can then join the Clyde Valley Tourist Route in Hamilton and wind down the Clyde Valley through Chatelherault Country Park, the garden centres and picturesque villages along the route, to the Royal Burgh of Lanark, and onto the award winning New Lanark World Heritage Site.  Continuing along the Clyde Valley Tourist Route, you will visit Biggar, and the rural villages of Abington , Crawford, Leadhills and Elvanfoot.  You will then be in the scenic beauty of the Lowther Hills and on the edge of the Southern Uplands and the Southern Upland Way.

 

The M8 (A8) runs directly through Lanarkshire and is one of Scotland’s Main Motorway arteries, linking Glasgow and Edinburgh, perfect for commuters. 

 

We have a lot of working families in the area who do just that so we are always looking for quality three bedroom family homes.  One or two bedroom town centre flats are also popular with young professionals and get snapped up really quickly.  We have a lot of landlords who are capitalising on the high yield that is achievable in the Lanarkshire area, and landlords who are investing in property as a long term pension plan.
