Claims that most people in the UK prefer to rent than buy property could inspire landlords to seek out residential lettings agents to assist them with theirs.
Tim Lambert, head of consulting at Ducalian, said that renting is considered to be a more "sensible" option than buying in the current economic climate.
"Renting for the majority of people in today's economic climate is more sensible, as the rent will on average stay the same month in month out," the property expert noted.
He warned: "Mortgages may rise considerably in the next few years as interest rates rise and lenders pass these rises onto consumers."
Mr Lambert went on to suggest that now is a good time to list property on the market and search for tenants.
"If you are planning on taking an interest only mortgage, values will not rise considerably in the near future, so you are actually better off renting- think of the unexpected repair bills et cetera that can happen in a two-year period," he explained.
"This notwithstanding, now is a good time to become a landlord, as the rent demand is considerable, but always buy based on yield [rather] than gut feeling."
Britons looking to put their homes on the rental market could benefit from property management services.
Such solutions can help landlords with crucial aspects of renting such as maintaining property inventories and meeting legal requirements.
Residential lettings agents also take away the pressure on landlords to actively market their properties and search for tenants.
