Kids are off school, adults don't have to go into work and everyone's set to party as they celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
But while Brits take full advantage of the four-day break, it appears that insurance claims tend to rise following extended weekends, and Aviva has revealed that reports of fire and accidental damage both increased by ten per cent following last year's Royal Wedding - and the Golden Jubilee celebrations that took place ten years ago also witnessed the same.
"Bank holidays also often lead to increased accidental damage claims mainly because families are at home more, probably enjoying time with lots of family and friends," said Ian Coull, household claims manager at Aviva.
So if tenants are preparing to host guests as they get themselves in the party mood, ensuring that all properties are covered with cheap landlord insurance policies could be particularly important for the coming weekend if investors want to avoid hefty repair bills that may result from any accidents.
